Privacy Policy

Disciples Christian Network (“DCN”, “we”, “us”) operates the DCN Sermons website and mobile app (together, the “Service”). This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. It applies wherever you use the Service, and is written to meet Nigeria’s Data Protection Act / NDPR and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) for members outside Nigeria.

Information we collect

Account information

When you create an account we store your name, email address, and (if you sign in with Google) the profile details Google shares with us. You may add a phone number and photo voluntarily.

Listening and reading activity

We keep your library — likes, saves, downloads, playlists and playback/listening history for sermons, series and devotionals — so it can sync between the app and the website and power features like “continue listening” and reading-plan progress.

Giving records

Giving (tithes, offerings and project donations) is processed by our payment partner, Paystack. We store the donation amount, currency, type, project and status, and a reference to the Paystack transaction, so we can issue receipts and show your giving history. We do not receive or store your card number, bank account number or other payment credentials — Paystack handles those directly under its own privacy and PCI-DSS obligations.

Push notifications

If you enable notifications, we store a device token (and basic device/app-version information) so we can deliver alerts about live services, sermons and updates you opt into. You can disable notifications at any time in your device or app settings.

Analytics and crash/error reports

We use Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics and Performance Monitoring (Google) and Sentry to understand how the Service is used and to diagnose crashes and errors. These tools may collect device model, operating system, app version, approximate location (from IP address) and usage events. This data is used to improve reliability and the product — not for advertising, and we do not sell it.

How we use your information

To provide the Service (sign-in, sync, playback, giving receipts, notifications), to keep it secure and working (crash and error diagnostics), to respond to support and prayer requests you submit, and to improve features based on aggregate usage. We do not sell personal data, and we do not use your data for third-party advertising.

Who we share it with

Service providers acting on our behalf and under contract: Google Firebase (hosting, authentication, database, analytics, crash reporting, push notifications), Sentry (error monitoring), Paystack (payment processing), Cloudflare (media storage and delivery), Algolia (search), and Resend (transactional email). We do not share your personal data with third parties for their own marketing.

Data retention

We keep account and activity data for as long as your account is active. Giving records are retained for the period required by Nigerian financial record-keeping obligations. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal data within 30 days, except where we must retain financial records by law.

Your rights

Subject to applicable law (NDPR/GDPR), you can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, object to or restrict certain processing, and ask for a copy of your data in a portable format. You can also close your account from Settings in the app or website. To exercise any of these rights, contact us below.

Children

The Service is intended for a general audience. Kids & family content is designed to be used together with a parent or guardian; we do not knowingly collect personal data from children as a standalone account holder.

Security

We use industry-standard safeguards (encryption in transit, access controls, audited admin actions) to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

International transfers

Our service providers may process data outside Nigeria, including in the European Union and the United States, under their own standard contractual and security safeguards.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version here with an updated date, and notify you in-app for material changes.
